Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

You like your job? Then mind your own business.., that’s the answer you will get. And if you don’t like your job they will show you the door. Remember we’re all expendable.
In the US, at will employment is the rule of the land in a vast majority of states. Employees can be fired/dimissed/whatever-the-latest-corp-speak word for it is with no cause. Doesnt matter how stellar your performance reviews were/are. If you choose to speak truth to power, thats the road you will go down. I've gone down that road twice in my career, being very plain about toxic events and patterns of senior leadership treating people very poorly. The third time, i chose to quit on the spot and walk out the door over extreme bullshit. I'm 30 years into my career and those events for sure held me back as i had to re-boot and start over each time. The last time was esp. hard as i was older at the time, and ageism is for sure a thing in my career domain (digital). So choosing to get involved in what you are describing is no small thing. In hindsight Im not sure what i really accomplished. May have been personally far better off just looking for a new job and leaving on my own terms. Its pretty impossible to be an individual " hero" that can flip some switch to fix toxic leadership. They have the power, you dont, was the lesson learned.
All very true, but at the end of the day the recepients need to speak up themselves and make it a formal HR issue re: the exec behavior. As do the other personal recepients. If the number of reports is high enough, something might stand a chance of happening. But speaking up or reporting on behalf of others is just not workable IMO and experience
Are you serious? This happens every day at every agency. Report it to who?
If it’s the CEO, there is no-one to report it to apart from the Chairperson (if a public company). Good luck with that as Chairperson and CEO often have to be aligned and work closely together. Your only other routes are public shaming in their industry press (good luck), or to a regulatory body (unlikely to do anything apart from write a letter to the CEO asking about any policies and processes related. )
Basically nothing you can do apart from document the interaction and hold it on file in case the client comes to you asking to back them in a law suit against their employer. You then have to decide if you’re willing to back the relationship with that client as they will move on and trust your loyalty, or the account.
Yes, ironically our client is the CEO of a mental health company is an absolute monster to their team and us.
To his credit, my agency’s CEO has taken them to task in the moment, in front of everyone on the call with things like “idk how this is a workable relationship with this level of disrespect”
It has improved the relationship slightly, the client CEO is still an asshole - but less outwardly calling the team things like “uneducated” or giving feedback like “wtf is this” which is a step up.
Report it to who? How do you imagine this playing out?
