Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?
Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.

I just created a bowl for attorneys on the autism spectrum/autistic attorneys. I am sharing here in case this might be relevant to anyone here: https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_xg2f38fuh2 My son is on the spectrum and I realize I likely am, too, after researching more about autism to help him. Feel free to join the bowl if it may be of help to anyone here!

I take 70 mg of Vyvance daily and sometimes have a hard time sleeping - I think it’s more because once it wears off I have ZERO impulse control to get off the damn clock app or video games or binging shows.
A friend recommended taking this sleep supplement called Night Shred…I’ve been taking it around 7:30-9:30 pm over the last two weeks and have been getting super deep rest & waking up feeling very refreshed….I’ve had no problems falling asleep at all and I’ve noticed a difference in my ability to focus during the day (probably bc of the amount of deep sleep I’m now getting). I think there’s probably a generic/cheaper option…but it works way better for me than just taking melatonin - which I’ve needed since undergrad.
Recently, I read the book, "Why we sleep". It gives you the advice to improve your sleeping. I think it would be very helpful for you to take a look at it, or at least you can look on youtube for its summary.
Before trying that, I would suggest switching meds, vyvanse gave me horrible anxiety but ritalin gives me good focus without that side effect. I do try to keep myself at a relatively low dose, basically the lowest I can get away with, and take days off or days where I only take half my normal dose or less (this is why I switched to ritalin from the longer acting one)
I’ve found it helpful to take a lower dose of XR in the morning and then, if necessary, and IR booster in the afternoon.
I also took 50mg of vyvanse daily. My doctor asked me about the sude effects and told her I really can't function well with it. She lowered my dosage and it seems to be working fine now.
