I did! Indeed. I asked for more equity and got it. Super happy. I start in November! Thanks for everyone’s help!

Without knowing the specifics of your situation, I’d say go with the tech company. I was full time at a pretty big tech company (not a FAANG, but close to it) for a little over a year and now have the equivalent of an entry level salary in stock I own. Not sure what equity would look like at your company, but I got lucky and you could stand to be far luckier.
Just sent you message!
I’m at a FAANG. Feel free to DM with specifics about equity. Every company is a little different. In general, if it’s an opportunity you’re otherwise excited about, you can’t go wrong.
I’m in the same boat. Following for advice.
Did you go for it 11?
Congrats!!!!!! 🎉
I've moved from advertising to tech as well so if you need another opinion let me know
How did you go about transitioning into tech?
In general, tech comp (esp equity) is meaningfully more generous than agencies. When I made the move, my base salary didn't go up much, but the bonus and RSU compensation (and overall benefits package) was way higher. Don't know your situation of course, but if they've reached round G and have a decent exit you could do pretty well.
It's different than agency life though, so it's important that you really like the company and their purpose. That'll help you get through the awkward adjustment period you likely have coming.
can you talk more about this?
I’ve been tech side and agency side. Happy to answer questions. For OP, you’re likely asking if the number of share are fair. What you can ask is the current value of a share. If it’s late stage enough, like an Airbnb, there are sites like equityzen where the stock actually trades, so you can get a real price to value the number of shares being offered. Good luck!
I have, about ten years ago. Best decision I ever made. Happy to discuss more if you want to send a DM
