Has anyone here transitioned from data science to data engineering? What skills are needed to succeed at top tech/FAANG companies as a data engineer?

Partners - absent the paycheck, do you enjoy your job? Regardless of yes/no, did you enjoy the path to getting there? If you didn't, what convinced you to keep going at it?

Is breaking into equity research/coverage teams as hard as breaking into traditional advisory/M&A IB being from a non target school with a non finance degree?

Been working at my company as a new grad for almost a year, but don’t see myself in the team that I am in (working with Salesforce) for long term. Interested in frontend dev and have been learning on my own. Manager says chase doesnt have much React opportunities. Is it possible to make a switch when I barely have experience? Are there companies that will hire by seeing that I am willing to learn and am interested in frontend even tho I don’t have much experience with it yet?

Is there anyone who became an architect without experience as software engineer? I currently work as solutions analyst and my goal is to be a solutions architect. Is it possible without having software engineering experience?

Spent 4 years at a life sciences boutique and then the last 1.5 years on BD team at a mega-cap pharma. Hard to get deals done, highly political, no input in decisions. Getting some bites for D roles in BD at small biotechs. Worth considering?

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

Recently left the Big4 without a job lined up. I’m hearing all my friends talking about busy season woes and I’m so grateful to not be in that position. Data is data, but they wanted to know metadata management and how do I build frameworks/implement enterprise systems.
