I’ve heard WPP has a no poaching policy among their agencies and that they will notify your current supervisor if they’re going to make you an offer. Never was able to confirm if that was true though.
can confirm. it's very awkward.
Did this within publicis. They can absolutely see your salary
Can also confirm the above. They can and will share your salary. Makes it very difficult to negotiate.
Yes this is standard. They will know your salary. And you will likely be limited to a 15% increase
Yes SR1 it would be a new level and new (much more expensive) city
In New York and several other cities, if you are applying for a job it is illegal to ask about your current comp. If you are trying to move between 2 separate legal entities, which is common for holding companies, they cannot ask you and it’s my understanding one entity should not have access to information about an employee from another entity.
Usually there are policies about notification at the offer stage.
Politically, it’s always a good idea to talk to your manager on your own, and to ask their support.
It’s illegal to do that if the companies are separate legal entities. If that happens and you are aware, you should report to the local authorities.
