May I know what is the notice period if one resigns in infy during the first 6 months of joining? I am a lateral resource and they hired me in June, but they have no projects related to my tech and want me to take weird roles.. seems they are hiring to increase employee count and cross training most. just looking for options..

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Any book recommendations?

All of the directors that I've worked with at IBM and Microsoft before that came into role with years of pertinent experience, understanding what the role's responsibilities, I would imagine that anything other than that is extremely rare. Perhaps it's different at smaller companies where the talent pool may not be as broad.
I wouldn't get de-motivated, I suggest that you start to have more realistic expectations for your career path, which may mean that you spend time as an IC in industry, and then potentially pivot back onto management with your new industry experience layered on top of the previous managerial experience.
I've got 20+ years of industry experience, but I'm not over here having my heart set on becoming CEO, having relevant experience is key, and like you, I've only got a subset of the experience it takes to be a successful CEO. Extreme example, but hopefully you get my point.
If you are focused on and/or only going after management opportunities, I suggest that you broaden your search. The title may not be what you think that you want, but frankly you don't yet have the experience to be qualified, and you may not even need to take a pay cut with the "lesser" role.
