Go to your local course and check. They usually have a PGA professional that gives these on either the driving range or will go out on the course with you
There are a couple course around me with very mixed reviews of the pros. I probably need to play better courses.
I've been happy with my experience at Golftec. The thing I liked better than just going to the pro at your local course is the video of your lessons and then being able to go into Golftec to practice between lessons and have the same video capability to confirm I am actually correcting the things I need to work on. I went from don't even bother keeping score to an 18 over a few months there, and still working on what I learned in the lessons to continue improving on my own now. I'm sure from your starting point they could help with the improvement you're looking for.
Most lessons provide a video
Disliked my golftec experience. Small bays to hit in. They hooked up all these sensors and were more focused on degrees and angles, instead of working with me, my swing and helping me understand.
I started working with a teaching pro not associated with a big corporate umbrella and have dropped 5 strokes and am as consistent as I've ever been....
Most important is to find someone you vibe with and that understands what you're trying to accomplish and how you learn.
Post a photo of your GHIN
Golftec lessons = 💩 lol
Seriously though never take lessons with them, I would only consider a fitting.
I’d say if you actually shoot mid 80’s then GolfTec is not for you. They tend to focus more on beginners and will emphasize getting you to hit a draw. I’ve gone in a few cities, including Chicago suburbs, and they really emphasize stack and tilt. Which is good if you’re a beginner but not so much if you’re shooting mid 80s and already have good control of your path and face
Where are you based? You should try a Dave pelz short game clinic? They’re super helpful and instructors are great!
I’m in Chicago. I’m checking out his site but doesn’t look like he is here. Seeing some good videos and tips though. Thanks for suggesting!
Just went to golftec north of Chicago for a driver fitting. Great experience and he gave some free tips.
I wouldn’t go to a golf store as those people seem to be very hit or miss to me.
Would agree that going to a nice course would work (for half the year)
Sold out in NJ till October
