We have no standard interview framework. Every team does our own thing. For a manager hire - more hoops to internal sell the need/leverage impact of the hire. Be able to discuss revenue, proposals, management experience and/or the specific skill you are bringing.
Google common interview questions for starters. Expect to explain a project you’ve managed successfully interview questions for managers are pretty standard across our industry.
I’m (surprisingly!) smart enough to know this already and have done so. I was looking for insights from people who have interviewed with GuideHouse. As a new firm positioned for merger with another and looking to expand their market, I imagine there might be things outside the standard job interview questions they might ask. Hence asking on here. Thanks for weighing in, though. Have a great day!
Depends on the team/interviewer. I tend to ask more questions around fit, ability to thrive in a nebulous and still evolving firm structure, ability to hustle, interest in public sector issues, any relevance in your network.
Revenue managed and assisted sales volume are generally helpful, but I’d expect to see those on the resume. On proposals I want to see that Managers have been the point person in coordinating upwards to get P/D solution framing early on, translating that into a structured proposal, managing content development and assisting D in getting it through internal gating. On engagements, I want to understand the M’s role in the broader project from being a thought partner to the P/D to executing deliverables.
By network I just mean past clients, employers etc who might be future buyers. Not so important at M level but doesn’t hurt to ask
