Fired from Deloitte not long after telling a partner and SM to get a room after watching 2 days of them making googly eyes and flirting outrageously.
It’s an opportunity to redefine yourself! Don’t waste it... total clean slate 1) what makes you happy? 2) what fulfills you? 3) what are the experiences you want to take from life? If you view this in the right way, you’ll look back at this moment and be glad!
Great mindset. I wish I had both of your presence of mind to look at such a major life event in such a positive fashion.
I’m sure you will be fine.
Transitioned out rather unexpectedly this spring. Polished off the resume, made networking/job searching a full time job, and landed a new role in 2 months with with more responsibility and 20% higher comp (on par with the promotion I would've gotten at BCG)
@A1, I totally feel what you’re. I don’t have my start date at my other job yet, so I have to float myself for the next few weeks until I do. This experience so far is teaching me to not take anything for granted. Its comforting to know that I’m not alone in this.
Knew it. Sketchy and vindictive AF.
Was fired unexpectedly a month ago. 2 years out of school. Tough initially. But doing the things OP mentioned are helpful. Good support group is great too. Goal is to land 20% bump like BCG1. The experience is pretty maturing
You bounce back with a better offer elsewhere.
Thanks @SC1. Luckily I saw it coming and started looking a couple months ago. Signed a contingent offer elsewhere before getting fired. Now it’s a matter of getting my start date. In the meantime, I’m just meditating and taking the time to redefine myself, like you said.
I’m sorry A1. Good luck in your search!!
And? I don't understand why a company would see this as a bad thing? People get laid off all the time and collect unemployment
Sorry bud.
SC1 thanks. I just want to hide in my blanket right now, but that's a sunnier way to look at it.
Bcg1 are you post MBA?
P2 - advisory?
Yep
P1 yes I was at post-MBA role (different degree tho)
Question: Should I try to collect unemployment? I’m not sure if it will show up in a background check or something
OP what does collecting unemployment have to do with a background check?
@D2 Some companies pull up your credit and income history as a part of their background checks
