Have the chance to move into forensics which has been my goal. Now, I’m not sure if I should/want to. I’ve been doing well in audit and I enjoy the work and love my whole office. I just can’t get past the feeling of really wanting do something in the world (i.e. take down the bad people lol). I don’t know how to get past the feeling that I’m going to miss out one way or the other. Not sure what to do

You can Always go back to audit. Take a chance!

Go for it, if you don’t like it you can always go back to audit

In a couple of years, most of the people that you met in public will be gone and you’ll find yourself missing a version of your office that does no longer exist. Take the leap!

These days audit would take anyone with a heartbeat that can spell “immaterial, pass on further review”. Take the forensic job and have something interesting to talk about at parties!

Been in forensics most of my career here. Yes, the work does have a slight satisfaction of ousting bad guys, but very very rarely do they face any sort of punishment. It's something most people don't realize about forensics. If you're working in PA you likely won't work any criminal cases and very few of your cases will wind up turning criminal. In my nearly 8 years of experience, I've seen maybe 2 people face charges. Everyone else is just fired or given additional training.

Personally, I love forensics and find it very mentally stimulating, but just wanted to make sure you had the right impression.

Thank you! I appreciate the insight!

I’d consider taking that forensic job if I were you. As others have said, you can always go back to audit.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
