Client to film director (in front of actor) “Can’t we just put him in Spanx? He’s looking a bit too chubby on screen.”
Recently laid off - is it better to be upfront about your current work situation in resume and job applications or should you appear as though presently employed? Feels like less of a stigma right now due to covid but wondering what’s best practice.
I’ve been laid off due to lost business. Struggling to find junior strategist positions and agencies that hire at that level, not many do. Should I stick with what I enjoy or consider account?
How do i take time off while actively engaged on a project? We are so swamped but i desperately need this time away
Hi Everyone Looking for a job opportunity for 10 years experience in Project management/Scrum Master Role.
Just got on a project I’ve been networking for a year to get on, but also got an interview with another firm I’ve been working hard for. They gave me a week to complete a case study that seems time
TFW you and your team are seriously contemplating intentionally crashing the rental on the highway to avoid going back to the office on this dumb project. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I’ve applied to over 40 jobs since I was laid off in March. Not one click to my portfolio, per analytics. With a family of four, we are being spread thin. Not only is the income desperately needed, but my creative soul needs a release. I would be happy to do typical Art Director work but I’m “over qualified” for that and am never taken seriously when applying for work below CD/ACD. If anyone needs or know of any company needing freelance work, large or small—I’d really appreciate the lead. 🙏
Client: "So can you answer the question? You still there?" ... Me: "sorry I was on mute" (as I frantically search google)
I have a ton of clients on my list. Some are not as active as others but it is a lot. Over 40 and I work in a complex industry with lots of moving parts. My role is more of a combination of product manager and client relations manager. I'm feeling exhausted because there is no system to really track client projects or requests beyond email. I feel like things are easy to miss and just had a situation where I missed a request and the follow up. I get over 200 emails a day minimum.
Which agencies are hiring right now? I know a lot of layoffs are happening but just curious to see who's looking for new people.
I have a campus recruiting event next Saturday for 5 hours. This is on top of my project work. Can I charge OT for it? I'm an analyst.
Currently managing a project and the SM is MIA, leaving me to take on their work in addition to mine. This is driving me into the ground and leading to burnout. How would you navigate / escalate this in a politically appropriate way?
Got an offer from a different firm for 25% more. I am the only resource on my project workstream that can produce a lot of afterwork as well. Is it possible to negotiate bump (not the whole 25% obv)?
I just started a new project 2 weeks ago and just found out it’s a train wreck. I am set up to fail already! No training and a lot of soft lies to client by Senior managers leading. I’m a manager, can I just ask to roll off? How does this affect my job security?
I have not heard back from the recruiter after interviews, but hiring manager recommended me for the role. Recruiter said she will get bank on Wednesday, nothing since then. Should I message recruiter or Hiring manager?
On sale for $200 anyone familiar with/have this brand? https://www.amazon.com/Furmax-Adjustable-Ergonomic-Workstation-Controller/dp/B08KRJ3V27
Hello Fishes, I’ve got an interview coming up that tests on Market Sizing . What materials are out there to prep ?
My stress is so high I'm out of words. Sticking with screams instead. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/04/parenting/working-moms-coronavirus.html
For those with separate bank accounts for rental properties: do you have it with your LLC or under your personal name? I really want to get a separate account for bookkeeping purposes but any issues with using it under my name and not LLC? The hassle of transferring mortgage just doesn’t seem worth the trouble when I can get an umbrella insurance policy
What is cyber security comp like at big4? Glassdoor has massive ranges so I can’t get a read on it. Thanks in advance
Anyone move from management / technology consulting to a strategy consulting firm / role? Would you recommend the move? For context I have 1 YOE
Struggling to find a job after passing the UBE. Do you have any recommendations on how to look for jobs? I’ve been applying in NYC, Chicago, and DC through Indeed, LinkedIn, etc but have had no luck.
Going to be in Barcelona from July 30-Aug 2 with my wife and son. I have Le Méridien Booked on points +700 EUR (for all three nights). Anyone stayed there before? Good/Bad? Also, I’m trying to...
Can I make up my spouse works somewhere to take advantage of the 16 weeks paternity leave? Do they do background check? Agree ethically not right but I need break, thoughts plz.
Had an H1 since the past 2.5 years but never got my visa stamping done. I am now proceeding to get my stamping done. Are my rejection chances higher? Should I be cautious of something?
Does anyone else feel like this has been a “lost” year for career growth due to layoffs, furloughs, hiring/promotion freezes, the difficulties of all remote work, etc? Or is it just me...
I work for a small boutique firm with ABYSMAL and TOXIC culture. The CEO has a habit of firing anyone who questions/disobeys him (he fired 40+ consultants since concis started) 5 consultants (incl myself) quit in the past 2 weeks leaving the firm with less than 10 consultants. I’m loving this karma
I have an interview coming up in 2 days. My SQL skills are kind of rusty since I haven't used it for years. I'm not sure if i will be asked some SQL but it's one of the requirements. Any tips on how to get ready for it in such a short time?
What do you tell ur team if you have an interview? Do you just block off time on ur calendar? Feel like they would still ping me and put things on.
