Hello Folks,
My LWD with current organization is on 30-Sep-2022.
I have an offer with HCl and joining date is on 3-oct-2022.
I have cleared the TCS technical and managerial round and got an email to upload the documents to proceed further with HR discussion, an I have done it yesterday.
But my priority is to go with TCS, but the doubt is will TCS provide offer or joining letter before 30-Sep-2022, because only 6 days left to complete my LWD.
Any suggestions to handle this.

Hi I've joined Harman in May but hasn't been assigned to any project yet. I've asked hr and reporting manager they said they're working on it and there's nothing to be worried about However I just want to know if there's anything I should be concerned about what's the bench policy? My firm loves this about me and uses it as like a marketing tool "see what great mentorship we have?" etc. Your partners should be lifting you up in front of the client. But I do get judged by opposing counsel a lot for it/sometimes get pushed around.
My firm is pretty great about it, honestly I love working for them.

My 60 year old boss minimized my opinion because I was 25 at the time frequently called me honey and contradict me in front of clients

Absolutely I'm a male and she's female so it's a weird dynamic but I was definitely harassed/abused
In my experience anyone can be taken seriously regardless of their apparent age, depending on how they carry themselves. Don’t let that get in your head. I’ve met plenty of 20-somethings with confidence (not arrogance) that belies their age.
I agree with this. I also looked pretty young when I started out, and I think that did affect how clients perceived me. However, I was also less experienced and therefore less confident than I am now, and I think that affected client perception more. Over time both looking older, but I think more importantly, the natural increased confidence that has come with learning and experience have both boosted clients' perception of me.
Yeah, I've absolutely had this happen. Usually from older clients. It is frustrating, but I've never ultimately ended up having it be an issue.
Grow some facial hair and wear shoulder pads. Problem solved.
Don't knock it till you try it
Absolutely! I’m 30 with a baby face. Clients my age have told me all the time that I look too young to be a lawyer. It’s very annoying especially when they’re literally your age. But it’s one of those things that you can’t control, can’t control how other people react. Maybe say something like “I may have a youthful appearance but what you need is knowledge and experience to win your case and I have that.” Or anything else to change the topic to something more professionally appropriate.
Having some grey hair definitely helped. And don’t take it personally. It’s an objective fact that you have less experience than more senior lawyers. Just do the best you can.
Even better, dye your hair grey
This happens to me all the time. Once had a client’s wife call my partner to complain that I was the lead attorney her husband’s case & said that she was “old enough to be my mother.” She was 11 years older than me 🙃 she quickly changed her tune when I got her husband dismissed & said that she would “recommend me to anyone” 🙄
Another client repeatedly told me I was “going to be a great lawyer one day”…….as I was also getting him dismissed from multiple lawsuits??
Hang in there. It sucks, but just do good work and laugh at the boomers for making incorrect assumptions.
Yes. I'm mid 30 and it still happens. I let my actions speak for themselves and they eventually see that I do have the experience, I just look young. I will never let clients disrespect me or my staff but it's my job to reassure them and it's okay that they have fears, doubts and such. We are there to guide our clients. Do so. P.S. in Big Law, partners Are your clients. The faster you recognize that, you may avoid getting fired. That doesn't mean harassment or abuse is okay, but pick your battles well and always reflect on what your part, your reactions and your actions contributed - is it only perception? is it in your head? or is it really a dumb boomer doing ageism ? all this could be true and it doesn't mean it's all their fault.
Many of the clients at my firm are the same age as me or started their businesses at my age (late 20s) so it’s never been an issue. Perks of working as a litigator in Silicon Valley.
I’m a first year and 33. I look late 20s. A client clearly looked up my bar admission date. He said “I know you’re new to this.” I cut him off right there. I graduated law school prepandemic but stayed home with my four kids and took the bar july 22. I did internships in my field. I worked as a paralegal for my firm for a year. I told that and then answered his stupid question.
I found wearing my glasses instead of contacts makes ppl think I’m a bit older. But, I tend to lean into my age (33), and value-add by speaking about e-discovery platforms, data collections, metadata issues, most of which older attys do not fully understand. I also enjoy when I’m in court and ppl think I’m a random person or paralegal, have convos in front of me, then I go up to argue 😌 Focus on the positives you can leverage rather than the negatives. The aging will inevitably come, some clients can’t get past their need of someone with gray hair despite qualifications, but you still bring valuable assets and perspectives. Once you prove yourself with timely client updates, a few wins, and they realize your cheaper rate, you’ll be highly sought out by clients.
it's okay. I also have a baby face, so I understand. you don't want those clients anyways. I routinely work with old people, and it can be intimidating and annoying, but the good ones will respect you.
I had a 3 week trial, and worked with expert witnesses (60-70 years old) for an entire year, and they were so kind, and wanted to work with me directly on the next case.
