Yes. I think it’s more appropriate to shadow outside your dept in order to cut out any conflict of interest. I wouldn’t show my employees who are interested in leadership how much the company, providers, other employees make lol as well as some other information that would be helpful topics of scenario based knowledge but involve prior employees of the dept.
Like I as well as others are usually told that if you want to move up it is beneficial to let your direct manager know so in what ways can that be helpful besides knowing other peoples salaries
Understood. However, does the majority of leadership roles involve people’s salaries? From my understanding it’s more to it than that?
I agree with Executive Director 1 above. I definitely think that shadowing outside of your department is a good thing. I have actually done it many times. I have also been sent to other hospitals to shadow before.
