Hello everyone, I am looking for my next role and need some advice. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering and about 3.5 years of experience working as a Project Engineer, Equipment Validation Engineer and Process Engineer (current role in chemical manufacturing). I enjoyed my role and team working as a Validation Engineer in the Pharmaceutical industry and I'm trying to get back into doing something similar, preferably remote. Mid-career at a Tier 2. Have two offers in front of me, very different trajectories:

McK: Lateral move with tenure, 1 yr from EM, generalist still
A&M: Step up to Manager, PEPI (PE performance improvement)

Which do you choose and why? (And leaving comp out of the equation, if you can - A&M is immediately higher, for now)

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?

Medicaid plans are so dysfunctional. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I’m being gas lighted after working for big commercial enterprises and now working on a Medicaid plan. I’ve never seen so much resistance to change or legit resistance to doing anything to improve operations.

Applied for a position in Johnson and Johnson Canada. Reached the final round 3 weeks back. After not getting any updates I emailed the HR a couple of weeks back. I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.
