Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily. Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work, good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

Even I suggested people to move out even when I can match an offer. When a person made up their mind, better to let them go. If we retain, it sends a wrong signal to team that they also need to resign and only then they can get a hike or they will feel they not valued since they did not resign. Also the project you working in , billing rate may be less and so not sustainable.
It happened in a project I was managing ( but I wasn't responsible for people working in the project , they had a RM who is managing them). A person put the offer and I told them to move on, but RM tried to retain and that person stayed on. But we could not keep him long as his cost increased which hit the margin. He couldn't find any other project in that location and was asked to join another project at a different location and which had night shifts and stuff and had to resign eventually after 6 months.
There could be a conflict, he must have communicated to HR you are not interested in retention (and probably might have communicated that he offered the CTC as well) and when HR reached you and found you're interested then it raised a conflict. 🥲
possibly 🤷♂️
Did you ask him why?
Do not revoke resignation until you have the revised salary letter sent to you by HR

Unless there's more details it's not possible to guess.
May be you going above his/her CTC 😄
😅 his CTC is twice as mine
Pro
If its TCS, he is rite
These guys get bonus on retaining any employee
Maybe now he won't get bonus, so now he is being honest
Actually he is right most likely your salary will not be increased as promised in retention
Accept counter offers and revoke papers. Simple. Ignore your Manager. Looking for another project is secondary.
