Index mutual fund, SGB, NPS, PPF, T-Bill
Out of let's say monthly around 1.25lpa
Put around 40 in MF
5K in NPS
15k in RD.
Now if you still have savings, put 40-60 ratio funds in EPF and Sovereign gold bond
I would think you have a job that pays you well today. Not that it can't be more, but it isnt bad. But the responsibility to raise a child and giving him/her the best shot at building a great life is a big one. If I were you, I would probably focus less on building a retirement corpus and doing the following:
1) Cut down your current annual expenses to ensure it is not more than 50% of your total income, but not significantly less than that either. This will allow you to build a strong contingency in the event that job displacements etc happen, but not soo bad that you are sacrificing spending on everything that gives you and your child joy.
2) See how you can increase your longevity in this sector. Jobs in this sector have a great degree in variance in what they offer, so chances are you can really find a role + company that allows you to maximize the things you like in your job vs the things you don't like. If the job is aligned to your interests, it is likely you will be in a position where you can grow your annual salary by 20% you atleast.
Good luck! Hope this helps (somewhat!)
