Hello! I’m seeking a counseling/therapist role to work toward full registration with CRPO in Ontario. Despite applying to hundreds of jobs, most require 3+ years of experience, leaving new grads like me struggling to gain hours, feedback, and experience. I’m paying out-of-pocket for supervision, training, and fees while dealing with ghosting after interviews. Two recent interviewers said they chose someone with more experience too. So any advice or experiences would be really appreciated!

Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.

I'm trying to choose between IBM Corporate Strategy and Innosight. I like both opportunities. Innosight pays more, but I've never had a big brand like IBM on my resume. Additionally, I'm worried whether Innosight's exit opportunities are slimmer than IBM. Would anyone have some advice on what I should pick / how I should think about this?

One of the worst double standards in corporate america.

Companies especially startups expect you to not keep interviewing when you accept a job offer. “It can deteroriate your brand.”

But companies would replace you in a heartbeat for almost any reason. Including interviewing a candidate who will replace you (you will be fired as soon as they find a person).

So companies can fuck with the little guys but we can’t look for our best interest?

Does anyone have a go-to "odd" or unconventional question you like to ask candidates to keep them on their toes or see how they react when put on the spot?

I'm accepting an offer with a new company... Start in early Aug. Senior Manager role, though in this company that equates to Manager at most consulting farms. They did not had hunt me. I came to them for the job.

I have COVID delayed vacations planned for the last week in August and the first week in October.

Should I just cancel one of them? Or should I at least put both on the table and see what they say? They're going to hire me either way, but I wonder if it's a bad start to ask for both.

Hey there! really need a change in pace from being in higher levels of care, and am wanting to go part-time with my company and private practice, but I want to buy a house in the next year and am worried about finances. I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team.
