Hello Tech Recruiting Bowl, I recently had a recruiting agency advertise to me a technical recruiting job to where its 100% commission and the pay is cut and dry. The agency fee for a job placement is 23% of the yearly salary and I get 20% of the 23% cut which is actually 4.6% of the salary. There is no base salary, no draw, no bonuses just this commission cut. Does this make any sense? I have yet to find anything on the internet that remotely resembles this pay structure.

I'm moving to London next Month from Newcastle and commuting into the city center, the closest tube station is chancery lane.

I will be getting a base of £42k and was wondering what locations you all would recommend to look for a place in, by the looks of things I will almost definitely be getting a flat share

Is it ok to work for 5.5L annual package with 3 years of ITSM experience.

Mid level Electrical Engineer in the greater Baltimore, MD area making $115k base w/ $20k sign on bonus. No yearly bonus. I started this job in April of this year. 2-3 years experience. When I onboarded they told me to expect promotion to EE III in about a year. Performance reviews coming at the end of the this year and I’m wondering 1) if my salary is on par with what I should expect 2) how to approach conversations about raises and promotion with my supervisor. Thanks for any insights.

Hi fishes, my friend recently had a bitter experience with Dish Network. So her profile was shortlisted and they asked few questions over email. It did take good 2hrs to answer and she replied back. HM said we are good to go for interview and sent an invite. On the day of interview nobody turned up, neither they gave an update later. She did follow up for a couple of days but no response. Is there any reason why this happens ? Me being in HR field felt this to be a little unprofessional.

I’m curious about a trend I am seeing: I like to think I’ve well documented my abilities and functions in my CV, as well as my portfolio. I’ve noticed that for some of these jobs that I can check every single box in the job description, I won’t even get an interview. I’m wondering if many of these jobs are posted for internal hires, but some stay open for weeks. What gives?

I am a technical recruiter with three years of experience. I am currently interviewing at a series B tech start up located in CA for a fully remote position. I am currently in Texas and don’t have to pay state income taxes. I am making about 90 K and would love to bump up my salary from there. My question is, what is a fair salary to ask for that will factor in both the new income tax and a raise?
