Crazy ethics issue. Client 1 has VPO against man who later becomes Client 2. This is the 4th VPO this year, previous ones dismissed.

In the meantime, State has filed rape charges against man who becomes Client 2 and A/B charges against Client 1. Client 1 also files for divorce.

Clients reconcile (which is how they both end up clients...) and want VPO dismissed, divorce dismissed, and criminal charges dismissed.

DHS gets involved and want to remove the child from Client 1's custody. (1/2)

Today is my first day back at work (and first full day back in my physical office) after a few weeks off for parental leave. Needless to say, I am struggling to stay focused on anything other than wanting to go back home to my spouse and child.

I know I shouldn't take an emotional temperature on day one, but it has been more difficult being back than I anticipated. Any tips for navigating the waters for the first day/week/month back?

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. I had 4-5 rounds of interview in Amazon in last 1.5 months, including bar raiser. I got a mail stating I am selected for position within 4 hours of my bar raiser round.
HR asked for a few documents like last 3 months payslips, ECTC etc. It's been 4 working days and that HR is not replying on my mail. It is fine or something is off track ? Any suggestions ?
