Hey All! I’m super lucky and excited, I got two good offers from LEK Boston and Strategy&. Would love to hear opinions and perspectives from the bowl! Here are the details: Strategy& PEVC exp associate, 100k base, no signing bonus, 16% - 25% bonus. LEK, Associate, 90k base, 10k signing, up to 3k bonus, and 18.6k profit share bonus. I’m leaning towards Strategy&, but would like to hear culture, brand, future opportunities, etc. I think both firms do very interesting work!

Note you’re really looking at two different jobs. PEVC is ops strategy and ops diligence. LEK will be commercial diligence. If you want to do commercial diligence but you also prefer PwC, then the group to be looking at to make it apples to apples is Deals Strategy.
Commercial diligences are market assessments…
Just gotta say that contrary to what most people say on this app, LEK isn’t solely CDD. You’ll obviously be able to get a lot of that but you get strategy opportunities as well. Just something to consider
I mean the strategy opportunities are basically just DDs. Probably different than the strategy cases at S&, which would revolve around things outside of inorganic growth (pricing, sales force effectiveness, cost, marketing, etc.)
Please keep the opinions and perspectives coming, thank you all
If you want PE / corp strategy & dev after, LEK is the move
Can confirm work split for me has been ~50/50 split on CDD and growth strategy

I would go for S& based on WLB, but depending on which industry you're interest in, L.E.K. might be better
Also S& people (that I had the pleasure to meet with) are more friendly/social than LEK, but I might be biased

Can’t really go wrong. Pick the team you liked more. Don’t worry about these little nuances that people are bringing up.
I love this take on it, thanks!
To keep it as simple as possible… if you want Ops experience go PEVC, commercial experience go LEK.
If you like CDD, go to LEK
@strategy& 1 would you be willing to provide a referral for consulting domain
If you do some LinkedIn searching there will definitely be people who worked at both. Best bet is to reach out to them and see what they say
Ohhhh man I’ve done so much networking haha, but yeah I just wanted to use Fishbowl since it’s pretty fast!
LEK pays better once you get 3+ YOE in. Our post-MBA consultants are at $230 (not including any signing bonuses) and Managers are at $340-380.
Can also second that we are not only CDD. There is a substantial amount but you will get a mix
M1 as in Engagement manager at LEK?
Not to hijack the conversation here, but if Author could DM me, I would love to learn more about the interview process for S&
How was the interview at LEK?
Not bad! This was my 2nd go around, but I practiced cases a bit with my roommate and created a doc of common hypotheses to test, which helped a bunch.
No signing bonus seems odd to me. You should push for one. Use the LEK offer as leverage in your negotiation. They should give you a signing bonus. Most external experienced hires receive one.
Will do, thank you so much!
Also, Strategy& mentioned possible uplevel to Sr. associate in 12 months, but top performance is necessary, so taking with grain of salt.
Thanks everyone, I also come from an ops background (did an engineering rotational program earlier in my career) so supply chain, cost optimization, which is why I’m leaning towards to Strategy&. I am interested in PE and tech eventually, but would PEVC just not compare to LEK in those opportunities?
For all the areas you are looking to gain exposure or double down, PEVC is definitely much more apt than LEK. Largest sector within PEVC is tech and team works with all the mega funds and tech focused PE clients. Dm me if you want to chat
OP where did you land?
