If you want a career in accounting, a CPA license is probably your best goal. I don’t think the certificate will have much value unless it’s a stepping stone to get the cpa (you need certain credits in accounting). Another alternative is going the FP&A route which is not super CPA focused but has related roles, and a good trajectory.
I appreciate you!

Second just studying for the CPA or CMA
Take a course in Excel.
Study the GAAP and IFRS terminologies. (Buy yourself a CPA handbook)
Put it in your resume. Mention Pivot Tables, VLookUps, Index Match, etc.
I can bet the issue is not your knowledge but your resume.
Thanks for this! I've done a ton of work on my resume so it's morphed about a hundred times but I'm always looking to make improvements to it.
You could possibly come into an audit position as an experienced associate or senior. Pay might be less or equivalent.
If you’re gonna go for anything, I would suggest a CPA license. Although audit is not done glamorous job either, it does help spring board you into higher paying jobs faster. Just my opinion.
I would echo cpa or CMA suggestions
Maybe CIA certified internal audit…
I agree with those who said get your CPA. That's the only credential that opens doors into accounting.
If you're not getting interviews, your resume may need some tweaking. (Maybe leave off the associate's degree, since you have a bachelor's?)
You also need to be prepared to explain why an MBA wants to go into accounting. Accounting, by its nature, tends to look backwards. Auditing last year's financials, preparing last year's tax return. An MBA is more forward looking. Just be ready to explain how those skills will work together.
