Hi all,
I joined KPMG around 3 months ago but I am not getting work here. Although, I qualified some project's interview, yet due to some internal reason, they considered someone else, and I again came on bench.
I am unable to figure out what can be done now.
Should I start searching work outside.
(I hardly see any job openings these days)
(sap domain)
How's the resource management here?
(do they lagOff?)
Any inputs will be helpful.
Thanks!

Not to sound gatekeepy but I personally would be super skeptical, and frankly pissed, to suddenly be overseen by a CD who has never created any work so you’d better get to making. Unless you have experience with design/motion/creating, it’ll be easier for you to focus on copywriting.
You’ll also need to prepare how to manage a team of people who will likely have more experience and skill than you.
I currently work with a strategist turned creative; she’s a great presenter and formats decks well but she doesn’t offer up many formulated ideas, rather it feels like working with a strategist who continues to feed insights when trying to brainstorm actual concepts. Pretty annoying so don’t do that lol.
Yeah, I can totally see your point - I do have experience with design but it's always been a role that someone else on the projects I work on specializes in. Any advice for starting to get out there when your company already has that role filled?

Do you have a background in copywriting or art direction? Most CDs have a background in one of those two, since that’s the bulk of what they’re overseeing.
My background is in copywriting and I've created a good share of video, print, and digital graphics from idea to conception. I have a good handle on photoshop, illustrator, etc., but not in a professional sense. My roles have always had a specific designer assigned to a project to actually execute the idea
I would so not be on board with this if i was on that creative team since the market is full of folks that actually have the required background and you’re essentially taking a role you’re not qualified to do. I’d prepare for backlash as a non-creative and to feel like an outsider for a bit.

Ohhhhhh! That’s very different then! Sorry, from your other posts it looked like you’d maybe studied copywriting, but became a strategist instead. Often there’s a CD of copy and a CD or art who are paired together. A small number of copy CDs end up working solo, usually after years of having a supporting designer in a similar role. I’d suggest finding someone to elevate as an ACD or CD of design or art direction to work along side you. Good luck!
