Hi Folks, I have 5+ years of experience in Manual Testing. I got very less exposure to work on automation testing. I learned Selenium/Python from online videos. I gave several interviews but failed to crack them, mostly because of Java related questions. Is it necessary to learn Java to work on automation testing? Kindly suggest what should i do.

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

I'm 6 months old at D! Planning early promotion next year.. counselor and pm both are backing me.. I need to go to India for at least 4 weeks in Dec ... most probably would be rolling off from current project by then .. would this vacation hurt my promotion chances coz of utilization etc?

Received an offer at 300k/year and a Google offer at 200k/year.
I wanted Google since I started the whole interview process, but I am now not sure given the salary difference.

The position at Google is more junior and the team is just being formed, which involves more risk. However, I like the team at the other company.

Hi, where or what types of companies should sophomores & juniors apply for next summer (2022) to recruit for IB the following summer (2023)? This summer BBs wrapped up SA IB recruitment, EBs even earlier, and a fair amount of my friends missed out big time.

Also, if a sophomore or junior doesn’t get a finance-related summer internship (I.e tech) and aims for an IB SA or FT position, is it harder to break in?

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio.Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. Is it weird to leave a job without expressing you are unhappy to any managing partners before hand? I actually think they will be shocked if I gave my two weeks and I think my biggest worry is that I am going to be killing my group if I leave with all the matters they will need to take on. But the firm has just been brutal during COVID with no acknowledgment at all (money or otherwise) of all the extra work associates have been putting in.

How much programming language is important for a QA Engineer..

Need your inputs, I have experience in Java Automation for past 2 years.. now my yet join company is using Ruby for Automation. Not a big deal in learning about ruby. Only worried about that if I continue here, in process of learning ruby I might have unlearn java.
