Hi Friends,
I’m from software development background. I got 2 offers, one is Tech product manager and another is Technical manager to deal with engineering team.
Which one will be best for career advancement?
Your advice and guidance will help me to take a right direction.
Thanks in advance 👍

Congratulations on your offers.
IMO future would be where roles would be merged like tech and business as there are lot more tools and products being build with AI and other stuff to assist and improve developer productivity so that time can be cut down and any idea can be quickly implemented and tested with real customer or user group. Since you are from technical background it would be easy to take up Tech Managerial role and be successful with little effort but my suggestion is to take up the TPM role which helps you to explore business side of things(you would be fascinated) and with little focus and push you should be able to settle in the role and grow.

Hope this helps

Tech product manager, as after couple of years if you want to pivot to leadership levels dealing business and strategy, TPM will provide an edge.

So back in July I went out for a new position at my small company that was rapidly expanding (Account Manager). Was notified that I didn't get the full promotion but was told instead that I was still moving up and was going to be Customer Service/Account Manager Support. The new Account Manager had no customer service experience within our niche industry. I instead had to help help him with all customer service issues.

I feel like I am being taken advantage of. ADVISE APPRECIATED.

I’ve had my eye on a “Delivery Transformation Change and Communications Consultant” position at Deloitte. And is there anyone who has worked in marketing and shifted to communications/consulting…what are your thoughts on a career shift?

Anybody did the apics certification in logistics ? I have the choose between the cslp and cscp but not sure which one I should be doing

I’m in ERP consulting at the moment, focused on manufacturing & supply chain. If I want to eventually transition into more of a tech strategy role, would a CSCP be worth having in my belt?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

My long term goal is to move into tech as my current customers are mostly in O&G. Is customer success a good entry point go get into one for the big tech companies?

Why do leaders keep comparing how “good”the new staff/seniors have it because they make more money starting out then they did and working 55 hours is better than the 70-80 hours they used to work? Instead they should compare what options they have available to them and what their goals are.

Thanks.
