JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Personally, with no more data than this, I would lack the confidence to go to SM 1 year into M as I would believe I still need to build the necessary skills.
But if you feel you can take the shortcut, I don't see why you wouldn't.
SM would be a solid step up. They are practice leadership and have a key role in selling work (as opposed to us Managers who sell but can get by without selling loads).
If you recently became M, then SM would indeed be a bit step. But if you can hang on, it would be a huge acceleration of your career.

Certainly worth the jump and a great opportunity. How did you manage to get an SM offer as an M1?
Jump ship fast. You will anyways be expected to sell in EY in another year or two so better thing will be to take that next jump and put that effort in new role. I joined Accenture recently and plenty of support for sales compared to big 4.
