So my 22 year old little brother starts his engineering job straight out of college with a base salary of $135k plus $25k worth of annual equity and automatic cell phone and fitness credits. He is also eligible for cash bonuses. Meanwhile, I'm a 26 year old making less than half his pay at EY with no bonus potential and am told that I am lucky to still have a job. With lots of support from coworkers, family and friends I left a toxic school environment mid fall. I struggled with not being in the classroom some days thinking I made the best call and cant wait to move up in my restaurant career then to feeling lost and like I was missing myself for 3 months.
