I am into Risk Consulting for the last 5 years and moved to North America last year only.

The kind of work I used to do back in south asia was quite different and involved data analysis and actual ground level improvements for teh companies. After moving here, I have just been doing Control Testings which feels very procedural.

Can anyone suggested some similar lines of work that I can pursue here? And How to get into them.?

P.S.: I dont know computer languages and have finance backgrnd

How to get released from the tcs project?
in the past i have seen My project manager has not given them a release, in the end they have to resign.

It’s review season at my agency. I’m struggling with what goals to put down or things I want to learn. Best books for U.S. Corporate Tax similar to Logic of Subchapter K for partnerships? I’ve historically worked extensively with partnerships and starting to branch out into more “Core” corporate M&A Tax and looking for a helpful resource to get up to speed.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

What are some feasible exits to the investment industry? PE seems to be too hard. Currently at Strategy& Deals Strategy and will leave at the 3YOE mark

Any recommended resources for a mid-level lit associate looking to develop some skills in health care transactional work? I'm primarily a med-mal attorney and several clients have small opportunities on the MA side that I'd like to be able to assist with. The firm does not currently have a specific transactional healthcare practice group so I'd need to go out of the firm for mentorship in this area. For now, I'm just looking for good basic foundational resources.

Currently I'm in a .net and sql server maintenance and operations project at a service company. I want to switch to a full stack developer position in a good product company. Besides honing my DSA, for skills, should I focus on MERN stack or pure .net development? I'm already familiar with MERN stack and .net core and have made small projects. But they are different and I would like to stick to one path and capitalize on it. Please help which one to choose- MERN or .NET?

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
