They are forcing us to pick any upcoming Saturday's to return the assets, that to we need to report the office by 10 am to return the system. Indian Society dear marriage is their only concern and not the skills of an individual. Talents are never appreciated only marriage plans, baby plans are the top most priority especially for women like us.
That's what I m feeling now. The worst part is that I realized this is going to be part of life, no matter. On top few male developers give suggestions, switch n get hike. It's not going smoothly for me. Existence crisis feel hota hai tb. Thanks for your word. it's not in mind now confirmed.
They said engineer ban jao, life set hai. Iss chakkar me poori generation pareshan ho rakhi hai. Most of us don't like what we're doing, our passion has gone down the drain, and we are living like zombies. Ab aise me companies toh faayda uthayengi hi. They want robots who'll work for them for few cents. Whether it's pay, leaves, work-life balance or culture, they have the upperhand.
I've been so low for the last 2-3 years because of this career that I chose. Please stand your ground, avoid answering such questions and keep trying to find out a way. There is hope as long as we try. Don't bring such things in your mind ki aap female ho toh it's a disadvantage. Find a place where you're valued. Wish you all the best.
It is tough to be honest for a beginner in IT from experience specially the mental harassment. But again from experience as you move up or look for more opportunities more doors open and life easier. Watch some shark tank on the side for motivation, if you want to break free, own the system 👍🏼

I have not been asked about marriage related thing but am having bit another type of experience related to gender discrimination
So when I was working for a big product company known for WLB and culture equivalent like google, amazon but I was being recruited as fresher there was always got overburden and worked hell lot.
I used to take whatever the burden assigned to me and used to extend my self alot by over focusing my career and that job I had faced health issues at the end I spent 3 years like this and while working like this I neither been heard that " u r a woman why u r working like this " nor I expected
But at the end when I resigned and when I had to talk with call with higher management regarding my resign and salary hike I expected while we r having discussion about package updation as per offers in my hand he shamelessly mentioned that " we know that era is about woman empowerment and all but still being a woman you need to focus on WLB (which is what I was missing with them but they r so called cultured org on internet) more than money it will be better for u if u stay here rather going for another opportunity for money"
I was so disheartened after hearing that like never before.
I am still digesting his thoughts even after years.

am too having 6 yrs of experience worked with two well cultured product MNCs never came across this thing its may be due to the kind of work culture you are applying for through job application.
Mainly Indian based org can be more prone to ask such private questions for making a judgement.
May be u r lucky but I tried with MNC’s as well and few of them have directly pointed towards the age. and marriage plans. I literally felt like a criminal. Even after having 8 years of experience I missed out marriage plans that should have been the top most priority.
Some people who are married both men and women, I have noticed if its work from home then due to kids and family responsibility, they tend to work less and push work on others. Also login late and logout early. This behavior is associated with experience people thats why its better to have work from office.

I joined a company. After joining I came to know that I am 2 months pregnant and I choose to continue my pregnancy. After complete my 6 months in that company. HR called me and demand for resign. I resigned there and Now I am jobless.
Everyone here was talking about getting asked about marriage plan, forced career and all I think those r not much serious thingd if u r mature enough to speak out bold but u bring the biggest and the realest challenge being a woman employee in corporate.
Tell me if u need any help if u r seeing for a new job.
Family is more important than job and career. It's better to make the decision to marry and have children earlier rather than being alone with a pet later in life

If the current project is not Toxic and you're getting decent pay then Try to stay at current company until this phase is over. Or else lie and get the job ( preferably in Service based MNCs ) and after that it doesn't matter what you do.
If you're serving last 15 days of notice then such questions will not be asked.

Even if u marry and carry responsibility their work will now get hampered due to anything...cause u definitely would make people around you in family take steps to prioritise your professional life...u have that right...after all you have to prove it to them that ur equal or even superior to everyone...

We have got 10% promotions slots 50 people in project so 5 slots for promotion and 3 are reserved for women. There are 20 females in project so easy right. Now males are thinking what wrong we have done
Besides anything with respect to its presence in market , ACN known for their vision in woman empowerment everywhere in the world.
They are bringing such good policies to motivates woman to get educated and be independent.

I don't think it's ethical to ask such questions. If they do you can ignore it and raise it as a concern to the company.
