I just plugged my own numbers into that and it gave me a rate about $400 higher than I was charging a day last year when I was freelance. I would’ve been hard pressed to get the number it suggested. So, use that number as a guide, but don’t be surprised if you have to lower it.

Generally agencies charge at 2.5 times your salary to clients. If you charge at 2 or 2.2 it still leaves a profit for them to take on your work that’s in line with their profit and most likely covers your healthcare

Out of pure curiosity, I've simply divided my annual salary by 52 weeks minus vacation time, then again by 40 hours.
This isn't necessarily what I should bill per hour if I were working a freelance gig, but is a rough gauge of what I make per hour (not including nights and weekends worked, of course).
