Are there any PMs in your current company that you can reach out to and shadow for a period of time? That could be a valuable experience to see first hand what is all about. In terms of moving into that role, it may be helpful to look at some certifications you can get to put on your resume. Really focus your resume /CV around your self learning and past experience and anything you can connect to helping successfully deliver products. Especially as an account manager you can really focus on your experiences with interacting with customers and identify opportunities for product strategies and direction.
Thanks for this! For my company we don't have pm roles but we do have PO roles. Shadowing isnt an option internally. I have been up-skilling learning PM (Product management and product Marketing) with reputable programs in my spare time. Also apply the theory to my current IC practices to improve upon them. :)
