How do companies reconcile freelancer hours while needing more than 9-5?

I've been at a company that always tries to reduce OT as much as possible. At the same time I don't think I've ever had a PM role that wasn't at least 9-6 or 8:30 to 6. I've really just been someone available if questions role in.

Now that I've been locked to ask for approval to go past 5, it's apparent that my overall performance is lower due to lack of time.

Is that common in the PM space to just under report time?

How many hours a week are you working? I’m generally clocking about 50-60 and I’m exhausted. I’m busy, but it’s mostly because no one I work with has any boundaries.

I'm 6 months old at D! Planning early promotion next year.. counselor and pm both are backing me.. I need to go to India for at least 4 weeks in Dec ... most probably would be rolling off from current project by then .. would this vacation hurt my promotion chances coz of utilization etc?

I’m intrigued but I want to know 2 things:
1. Culture/WLB - how is it?
2. Realistic market opportunity/opportunity to crush quota (obv dependent on many things)
