Finish this deal up then fill up your plate elsewhere.
Unfortunately I have like 4 clients with this person. Which is why I need a way to deal. I am def not taking up new things with them.
Set personal boundaries in terms of what your working hours are. If it’s before or past that time then set the expectation that you’ll be delayed in responding. People will take a mile if you let them.
Also, have you just tried saying no to being on camera or dialing into the call on your phone vs computer?
It’s hard but stand your ground and it’ll likely earn you some respect from this tool bag.
I started responding to all texts by email to shift the platform, and a partner I work with seemed to eventually get the hint. If I know I can’t be on camera, I’ll also join calls by phone rather than computer.
I haven’t responded to texts. It’s my personal call phone. If they want to reach me, they can email me. And sorry, NO sympathy for the senior being so busy. I know how staffing at my firm works - if they’re busy, they shouldn’t be signing up for new stuff. If they don’t respect their own time, it’s not my problem but they cannot assume that I’ll work the same as them because they’re busy.
Re: Zoom reviews, is your partner ok with both of you billing for that time - for you watching her review a document? Consider the angle that it’s not a good use of client dollars. For any text after 7/8pm, let it sit until the morning - for all s/he knows, you’re with your partner or sleeping.
Yes, they’re clearly fine with using the zoom time for both of us to bill. In fact I’m convinced that’s why they insist on it.
That is crazy
