There’s typically a base salary + commission
Let’s say an employee makes 100K the recruiter may get 10% from the employer.
This is for a headhunter recruiter

Too many factors. If it’s internal, probably nothing but their standard salary + bonus structure. If it’s contract, they usually receive part of the billable hours. If it’s a placement agency, they usually receive a % (10% from what I’ve seen) of the salary the person gets.
Corporate/internal recruiters are salary based and bonus eligible based on whatever criteria their employer has defined as their “sales” plan. Contract recruiters are typically just salaried based on their contract.
External recruiters earn a percentage (IIRC, and it’s been a few years so I may be off a bit) typically 20% but may negotiate a specific deal, particularly for a hard to fill role which is when companies typically use external recruiters because they are so much more expensive than internal staff

My SO is in recruiting as an external firm. Each role is typically a negotiated percentage of either billed hours if it’s a contract position, or flat percentage of the salary (assuming 90 day retention) for direct hire.
Highest I’ve seen is a 28% cut on a FTE, lowest I’ve seen is 10%.
