How do you deal with criticism? I've always wanted constructive criticism so I can improve, and I'm fortunate to have a boss that does this in an empathetic way. But whenever I do get feedback, my RSD starts acting up and I feel like it's the end of the world. It's worth mentioning that I just moved firms, so I haven't built a long working relationship with my manager and skip manager or my colleagues yet. They all have good intentions - so I'm hoping I can stop myself from self-sabotage.

no matter how poorly feedback is given, I try to self-evaluate and reflect on what could be better. The trick is to stop from overdoing the negative self-talk. Keep a diary of all positive feedback, a journal... to help believe/ internalize positive feedback. Make a plan on what to do next time and stop thinking about it, move on. Put other things in your mind.. watch a war movie for perspective.

My mentor gave me the best advice for this (that they got from their mentor!). When you feel that you are taking the blame in any situation, always look outward first - what was the context? What were the things you couldn’t control? Were you enabled and empowered to do the task you were given? Were the expectations reasonable? Etc by doing this first, and then looking inward, you will be more compassionate and accurate about assessing yourself and your role in the situation. This strategy has honestly changed my entire perspective on how I approach life

Dealing with criticism can be challenging, but it's great that you have a boss who provides constructive feedback. Remember that feedback is an opportunity for growth, and try to separate it from your self-worth. Take time to process it, focus on the areas you can improve, and discuss your concerns with your manager for better understanding. Building trust and relationships with your new colleagues will also help create a supportive work environment.

My boss won’t stop sexually harassing me. Verbally, email, texts - 400+. He even set up his office with a display of sex toys and edibles condiments to show me that he planned to give me oral sex. All started 3 weeks into the job. I moved my family cross country for this job and just bought a house. He promises me none of his requests or my responses will affect my job and is just begging now to be friends with me. Tell me what would you do if you were me.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?
