How do you keep new hires engaged after the first few months? We pair them with mentors beyond their department, but I feel like momentum still drops after 6 months.

What exactly do you mean by momentum? If they are still doing their job well, then is it possible they have simply settled in and feel secure in their place at the company? If you really think it's a case of lacking enthusiasm, I would be looking at why it is such a common issue. Are they burnt out? Are they paid enough? An issue with workplace culture?

All good points!

Do you conduct 30/60/90 day touch-points to gather the necessary data? If not, the answer may be writhing arm’s reach.

Great point!

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?

Here are my observations about the skills and experiences that PMs have and how people are joining that group.

They are all technical. All of them could easily be very technical cloud consultants or cloud engineers.

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Even if it’s for feedback, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hello. I am just starting off in the corporate Hr biz. I have done it for small restaurants and now I finally have an opportunity to step it up to a coordinator for a corporate company. I am in California. I have 2 years of running the HR departments of smaller business but now slightly taking a step down but since it’s a bigger company it’s more structured. Anyways. How much do I ask for?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Pretty sure the saga of the slave driven company has come to an end I’m the only HR person at this company. Friday I had full admin rights, and went to check email Saturday; account locked. Payroll/HRIS locked out. PEO service says no pending termination is on my file. Went to the office today to get my things just in case. Located in CA. Was about to report numerous violations too. All because I couldn’t solve 8 months of payroll issues in a day. 🫠 Good riddance, I’m getting a lawyer.
