How does anyone get their foot in the door for Project Management. I have the experience with my time in the military and I’m testing for my CAPM soon, I have the IBM Professional Project Manager certification. But no one seems to be interested. I feel stuck with my Resume.

As a 20+ year lawyer with no big law experience (smaller and mid size firms plus government and in house experience), would a BigLaw firm even consider me? Perhaps an of counsel position? Even a senior associate?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. Can one become financially stable after being discharged from the military?

Getting disability rated…I retire next year and seeing the doc for all my issues. They’re listed in Genesis under my active issues. Does that automatically count for when I retire or do I need to get appointments addressing these issues again after meeting with the VA?
