Skiing is easier to learn but harder to master. Snowboarding is the reverse. And you’ll spend a lot of time on your rear in the beginning.
Ski—until you can dedicate some time to the board.
Acn1 nailed it
But also don’t snowboard if friends are skiing ESP if you’re new to it. You’ll be a liability.
Either way you're going to spend most of your time on the ground. With skiing you may be able to do something enjoyable at least. Snowboarding is really tough at first.
I mean anything is better than nothing. One day, two days, three days, all of that would help
You should find out if your friends ski or board. I promise you that no group of skiers wants someone on a board in their group. You’re a liability on a chairlift mount/dismount, take forever to strap in and out, don’t like trees, etc. so I’d find out what type of crew you have and what terrain they like and decide from there

Lmao this is so true. Plus no skier wants to pull their snowboarder friend through the flats.

You're over thinking it. Ask for the black diamond slopes - those are the easiest - and just go for it. Let us know how it goes!
Might as well go blindfolded

Spent a week on my rear, even after I was a pretty good skier. After that, snowboarding became a lot of fun.
Both are fun eventually, but both will have you on your ass the first few days. Prepare for soreness
I thought snowboarding was harder to get the hang of, but it's not crazy hard compared to skiing. If you are moderately athletic and aren't doing black diamonds, you'll be fine to figure it out there. Plan to be sore, though, and bring a theragun/hypervolt with you.
Honestly, you should consider investing in one before the trip - your body will thank you. I have a Theragun mini I bring when I travel; totally worth the ~$200.

Learning to ski is 1000x easier than snowboarding, especially as an adult.
That said once you learn to ski, learning how to do tricks is way harder than learning to do snowboard tricks once you learn to snowboard.
Snowboarding is hard - as someone who danced for over a decade and learned relatively young. I also injured myself and it took me awhile to be able to stay up and get down the peak.
If you’re young (<30) and athletic try snowboarding but be careful.
Yeah I do lol, started when I joined uni, it's a good form of discipline
I ski and come from a family of skiers (my nephew is a ski instructor), but have never tried snowboarding. I’ve always heard snowboarding takes a solid three days of falling before you get the hang of it.

Skiing is better

Snowboarding is better
Take the beginner’s class, either way. I prefer skiing, I always felt I had more control. But I’m a total beginner at both
