How many of you had the n word slip when at work? Did the person brush it off or did something bad happen?

Senior revving up to manager promo. Only nervous about one thing at the manager level which is having to answer pointed “Why??” questions from higher up clients on live calls. Any one else work through something like this? I’d appreciate any tips or suggestions as I really suck at dealing with unexpected push back.

How can I get my *micro* manager off my back? I know I haven’t been doing the best work this quarter, but emailing me all damn day isn’t going to help me do better, I do know that.

I know HR says you should report it but I’m paranoid that if I report a colleague that’s been harassing me, I’ll be viewed as a rat. (Most guys are immature/harmless but he’s actually being malicious)

How do you deal with not getting the desired output from somebody working under you? I think I’ve given enough examples and direction but the work still isn’t where I need it.

How do you handle it when a direct report reacts negatively during a performance review?

Have a really good relationship with current company, but got an amazing offer and very likely gonna leave (signed the offer, waiting for all the background checks to come back). How do you tell your boss you are leaving the company (if boss is not a dick lol) and not ruin relationship?

At this point, I’m looking forward to telling opposing counsel in this one case that I’m leaving my firm more than telling my firm. Between the ridiculous theory of the case, the truly obnoxious discovery requests, and the self-righteous attitude, I can’t wait to never talk to this guy again.

Is my manager forcing me out?

In our 121 last we had a good discussion on creating a personal development plan, with the idea being I’d write down clear goals & action points to get from my current level to the next, and I’d provide weekly evidence of it. I prepped the doc accordingly, but instead of wanting to discuss it, he said I have 4 weeks to “turn things around” - without giving any new info on what I’ve done wrong - esp given I wrote my goals based on this same feedback from last week??

Partner who is notorious for asking for work he doesn’t need and never uses (but always criticizes) asked me for something about a week ago, and has not followed up on it. It’s about 80% done but it’s incredibly tedious. I work part time for a startup for equity and am attending an event on behalf of the startup. I’ve only been here a few months and asked multiple times to have a prep meeting with my boss. He instead sent me a 15 page document outlining 40 questions I should be able to answer the day before the event.

My work gives us points/money for achieving certain activities such as exercising for 180 mins per week. I have my Apple Watch automatically sync with the app that tracks our activities and it works great. Problem is I started using NRC (Nike run Club) app for runs and it interferes with the Workout app on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t get tracked. Has anyone found a way for the NRC and Workout app to run simultaneously (pun intended)?
