I take as many as I can get and I encourage my team to do so as well, I take off the entire week between Christmas day and new years day (some of those are federal holidays and some of course are PTO). I think this year it will end up being only 3 PTO days because of how the holidays land
Thanksgiving is easy. We already get Thursday and Friday off every year. If I am going out of town for that holiday, I will take the following Monday off. I don't need more than that. Christmas changes. This year it falls square in the middle of the week. We get Christmas Eve and Christmas off. We can't take the whole week off, so half of us are taking the previous Friday and Monday off. The other half is taking Thursday and Friday. Work doesn't get done if there are no people there to do it.
Nice, we have to take PTO for holiday eves..
Lol
28 days. Since 11/25 to January 2nd
Sounds less like PTO and more forced time off…
I have unlimited PTO but I’m new to my job so I’m taking off less time (12 days) than I usually do around the winter holidays. In the past, I’ve always saved up and taken 3 full weeks and then used the rest of my free time over summer.
