How many years do you need in industry to be a manager? Lot of exit ops I see at 4 yoe is for associate or senior associates. I want to manage people soon

If you want to manage, are you really ready to manage?

You can be a manager out of school, or at a competitive company, after just a couple years. YOE listings are always inflated; If you see 4 yoe listed, they mean 1-2.

like

Depends on the firm you’re exiting to. As a rule of thumb, consulting roles are inflated and go a notch down when you move to industry

Er the opposite

Depends on the role. Some high level IC’s at my company don’t have any directs

Usually rule of thumb (Atleast from what people say) Is that 1 year in consulting = 2 in industry .

For manager you need about 3 years consulting experience so ideally 6 YOE (that’s my path as well)

Hello Fishes,

Are the below offers on par with the market standards as a data engineer?
YOE : 4
C CTC : 9
Offers:
1. Synopsys(17L + 2L VP + 3L JB + RSU - 10K USD)
2. MAQ : 15L
3. Optum : 15L
After browsing this portal, got to know Synopsys is paying good for this role. Any suggestions?

Can I ask more as I'm looking for longer association(if yes, what should be the approach considering that the other offers are less than this) and any idea about the hike percentage in Synopsys?

I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!
