It can be spot on or high depending on where you fall in the payband. Although if you're high on the pay band and that limits the pay bump push for a higher sign on bonus- typically more leeway there.
Do you have a sense of where you are in your current salary band? Typically outside hires get brought in into the upper part of the salary band so depends where you’re coming from.
I think I’m close to the middle based on my comp discussion this past fall.

You generally lose a review cycle when switching jobs so it needs to be the equivalent of two raises just to break even.
They did say I will be eligible for a raise in the next cycle (in August).

Actual answer- probably 20-30% depending on what kind of bonuses/raises you’d be forfeiting or getting reduced. If you’re eligible for a raise in August, see if it’d be a full raise or if it’d be prorated based on dates of service.
