How soon is it appropriate to follow up after an interview? Or should you just wait for HR to get back to you?

Ive got a hedge fund research interview at an asset manager coming up. Spec is to contribute towards manager selection, research HF strategies, emphasis on both quantitative and qualitative research.

Anyone know what kind of skills they might be looking for? Particularly on the quant side as i have less experience there
