How would you word an email to delicately decline a casual chat request from someone wanting to connect with my exec, balancing the need to convey X's busy schedule without coming off as dismissive to a potential partner or fundraiser for our company?

It depends on whether my exec is open to talking in the future or just wants to avoid it fully. If they would do a call later on, I would say the schedule is full with travel and client commitments, but to reach back out after (add in a specific time frame). If they aren't interested at all, I say the same but offer to find someone else that they can talk to. If they specifically want my exec and not just someone at the company, I again use the same excuse, but instead say I will reach out when it's a better time to set something up (then never do).

I would say something along the lines of :

Dear....,

I hope this email finds you well. Thank you for reaching out and extending an invitation to chat. I appreciate the opportunity and your interest.

Unfortunately, due to my current commitments and workload, I am unable to accept the request at this time. However, I am very interested in connecting and would be delighted to explore opportunities for a discussion in the near future.

Please feel free to reach out again, and I will do my best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regard,

.........

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

Currently our marketing team is of one (me) and we outsource quite a bit of other tasks as we continue to grow. With that said, one of the tasks I am currently involved with is creating weekly emails from scratch and I am pretty darn good at them. Yet so many people (several in different teams) have requested to review my work before it’s sent. It’s unnecessary and makes the job less efficient. How can I politely and professionally decline their request?

I’ve been interviewing for new positions to leave PA. But in my current position, we’ve been adding quite a few new projects (and our team is partner, two staff, and me) that will probably start over the next couple of months. I don’t think my boss has any idea I’m looking to leave - anything I should do to not feel guilty about potentially leaving them short staffed with a ton of work? Is this something you think about when looking to leave?

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
