HCB layoffs on the horizon
Please Help your inputs helps me
Hi All
I am a fresher and joined infosys Nov 2021 in campus placement.
Now has 11 months of experience. I am planning for MS in Jan intake
If I resign now notice period is 1 month, but if I complete 1 year notice period is 3 months?
My visa is not yet approved, I am confused now whether to resign or stay?
Is there any buy back notice if it is there what is the process?
Infosys
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

You H1B folks boggle my mind, I would never put up with this shit. Is the constant uncertainty really worth it? It must be. Nonetheless, wishing you the best- good luck.
Also, some people truly believe in and enjoy the core values of this country that they’re willing to take those uncertainties
company (non consulting) who had given me offer as well, (but I had rejected it) and ask them if they want me and start my h1b transfer process as well. Also start applying to other companies. worst case situation.
dont feel good about doing it. but then I am laid off and need to secure the future.
Also having second thoughts about consulting firm due to these layoffs in deloitte and all visa issues when trying to work for clients
good idea?
yes .. but since i was laid off, i just have 60 days to find a job..and if my transfer gets denied, i would have lost 15 days just waiting for it..hence a bit worried
My heart goes out to you and your situation. A country built by and on the concept of immigration shouldn’t operate as unfairly as it does today.
I would say contact the other offers you turned down, you have nothing to lose my a bit of time. Deloitte is an amazing company and I don’t think any one would fault you for taking that offer in the first place (and I don’t think anyone anticipated the recent layoffs).
Make another post on here for referral requests (use the hashtag feature too) and list your speciality and interests. I’ve seen so many posts result in a flood of ‘DM me now!’ responses. I would, but I am brand new and don’t want to wait your shot on someone without clout. BEST OF LUCK!
“Unfairly”.
My brother was laid off and most of his dept replaced by workers from other countries. They kept one guy who was promoted to manager for 6 months until the training was done, then he got fired too. It is most asshattish thing I ever seen a company do.
I do not see why immigration law can be considered unfair.
Doesn’t Deloitte offers a transition if you tell them you want to leave? This is terrible.
what do you mean by transition..i was laid off by deloitte ?
i guess they dont..nothing was offered to me except for severence package.
