Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Practice, practice, practice.
But I think something that jumps out to me is your statement re “trying to convince the interviewer I’m a good fit”—you should try and reframe in your mind that the interview is a two way street. You are interviewing them as much as they are you, and therefore no one is trying to convince anyone of anything. Rather, you are both trying to determine if the other is a good fit.
This may help you with your nerves, as you are also driving the interview just as much as the job/business.
THIS 👏 you’re interviewing them too. Come prepared with questions on their culture, company values, how they encourage team bonding or time off or work balance. Things that are important to you
I relate to this a lot. Practice and preparation beforehand helps a lot, but my clinical anxiety is a huge obstacle to overcome and gets in the way even when I’m confident. I’ve had some really good interviews (in my opinion) and still not gotten the job but those are few and far between. So I just keep trying my best to prepare, get myself in the right mindset, and hope for the best.
I sucked at interviews and I didn’t get jobs for a years. I was settling for mediocre jobs just to get by even though I graduated with a degree in engineering. The thing is I didn’t know that I sucked and blame it on everything except myself, from the economy to the interviewer to everything else. The thing is I didn’t know that I sucked until I hired a professional career and executive coach to help me out. Oh man, what a difference. I’m not talking about resume writer or interview prep. This is all ok but it didn’t get me jobs. This life and career coach changed my life, really boosted my confidence, helped me figure out what jobs should I apply for and went through few assessment to understand myself real strength and weaknesses. I got rebranded and really lot of inner work to fix what I’m doing to push away the interviewers from selecting me, provided me with a a strategy on how and where to apply. After that, within few weeks I landed 2 interviews and one 6 figures job offer. Never thought in my life I could accomplish that. So if you want to save few years of your life struggling finding yourself and land a a career that you love and get paid for it then go for a professional coach and don’t waste a minute.
I used this coach, she is one of the top 15 coaches in Houston, she was recommended to me by a a friend who used her as well. It’s worth the investment.
