Hi All, I was approached by a recruiter to interview for a manager role at Strategy& based out of Toronto. He mentioned the base pay range for a new M will be CAD 145-155k.
Can someone please share:
1: What the interview process will be like?
2: Is the base pay in line?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

What’s your objective?
If you just want to spend $150-200k to get a piece of paper that says MBA, sure
Otherwise it’s not worthwhile to burn that money. But I’m always happy to burn it for you
No. If you are a manager now, an MBA won’t open opportunities for you that experience would not.
A few things to consider: 1) not all MBAs are created equal, also to make the ROI work out a bit better, would consider an EMBA so you continue to work, and apply what you are learning real-time. 2). Consider what also comes with the MBA - the alumni network, ability to better understand your strengths, interests, capabilities. 3). Realize top-tier programs also have full-time advisors to help you navigate to your next role. You can absolutely leap-frog where you are by switching firms, armed with more frameworks, confidence, and connections. I wouldn’t dismiss it, but also take it seriously. It’s a grind working and doing school work if you’re going to the right school.
I’m 26 and a senior in consulting and the math on a MBA doesn’t even breakeven unless I go M7 so no, probably not worth it for you
The one exception for you maybe is if:
A) You hate your job and just want to pivot to something totally different no matter the cost/time commitment
B) Your company is paying for it

Im in the same boat but 39; also considering doing it if I can get it paid for. One part for the experience, one part for the branding, and one part to set an example for my 2 year old daughter.

I would only consider it if it’s paid for by your firm.
Not for a positive ROI!
Might as well just buy a dope speedboat
