I am a VP at a management consulting firm. I spoke with an Accenture Strategy recruiter and heard the Manager level range is 115-249k base. Isn’t that similar to what managers make in the other Accenture practices? Is this not a harder group to get into?

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I have a “commitment to an offer” at 150-170k from a BB. They said they can’t give me the offer until Feb/March until they ramp up their current hires and figure out their budget, but the HM said the best thing I can do is to get another offer to use as leverage.

I’m about to receive an offer from a different company at 100-115k. Would much rather work at the BB (better company/position). Is it even worth me bringing this offer to use as leverage, or is the salary discrepancy too much?

Like, I assume that they are paid based on the level of the candidate that they bring in, but how are their incentives ALIGNED? If you as the candidate get a higher comp package, do they get a higher placement fee? Or is it in their best interest to keep your comp within (i.e., below) a certain range?
