So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

@ OP - Not my decision obviously but also think about the time you’d have to utilize if you were to start full time later on. Assuming you’re going for your CPA, you’d have all the time in the world to knock that out of the way. I’ve seen people extend their internships if they needed the money and do this as well. It’s a lot more difficult when you become full time and are on salary because then you’ll be expected to work overtime.
You’d have to talk to your recruiter and leaders of your group. It’s possible that they would let you but also typically the hiring goals assume interns wouldn’t start full time until the following year. Are you graduating earlier than anticipated?
Again-Need to talk to the recruiter as it is based entirely on your office hiring needs.
I started immediately after my internship (at PwC), but I think the process might be the same. Express your interest to your recruiter asap. Additionally, I was able to do since my partner reached out to them. So I would talk to your team as well.
I interned in summer 2015 and started right after the internship. I still had two classes to take at that time but my team allowed me to start because I was able to enroll in two classes at night.
Get your cpa and travel a bit first (if financially possible). You won’t have much time to enjoy life afterward.
In 2019 I was given an August offer and asked to start in January, they had no problem throwing me in the fire early.
Did you receive a full time job offer or are you just assuming
Just assuming I guess
Got hired last summer right after my internship! It’s possible, but if you are thinking of getting your CPA, and if possible, definitely do so before you start.
