Hi,
My last working day was 11th Nov and I submitted my asset to TCS location and got the Initial release letter as well. Later on 17th or 18th of Nov, I got a message from TCS that they have sent the Packing material through Vendor, please accept it.
I didn't accept the material and cancelled it when the delivery boy came to my location.
So, is it going to create any problem in getting reliving letter? Share your thought please

Call them and let them know. Here are the facts - No long-winded explanation. And then move on with life.
Firms have better things to do than retaliate against Turnover Tim and Reneging Reggie.
This. Additionally, the firm wouldn’t think twice if the situation was reversed. They’d just dump you. OP, enjoy the better offer!
They won’t care that much, but yea don’t expect them to vouch for you in the future.
Just be honest and say you were awaiting another offer that just came in. Without going into the details, just say it’s a better fit.
Yeah, the problem is that when your are dealing with Fortune 500 companies there are very few of them. By considering your own interests over those of these two companies you are reducing your potential employers to only the 498 remaining.

Getting to the point and doing it right away are good thoughts. Make sure you sign the other offer before doing it, just in case.
^^
Why is everyone making this a big deal? They literally have 100s if not thousands of people joining and leaving daily. Could just send an email no one would care, idk what bridge people are talking about. The bridge that pays less, it’s nbd and there isn’t some blacklist ledger (hopefully). If it is just money tell them that and they may counter
You are doing the best for you by going to your new offer, but the firm will do the best for itself as well and may blackball you from future listings for a bit. Just be okay with doing the best thing for yourself and understand there will be some sort of emotions on the other end potentially as well. Actions have weight and we have to deal with that. No happy ending scenario for everyone in every case. But they will move on and find another equally as qualified candidate. Just part of the nature of the industry.
Just remember that any of these companies would replace you within a month either way. You have no obligation to one over another. If you got a better offer, just tell the first company that your situation changed and you can no longer accept their offer.
Thank them for everything and wish them luck on finding their next candidate.

You are burning bridges by doing that. Keep that in mind and be straight to the point

I am not aaying dont do it. You do whats best for you. But just be aware there is no easy way to do this. You are going to torch a bridge. Make it as quick and straightforward as possible.
You have already notified your current workplace that you are leaving?
If yes, why delay joining the new company?
Lol doing this you are literally bombing the bridges 😂If you are cool with that just go for it..
Yeah don’t worry about this. Just call them and move on.
They may be upset about it for 15-20 minutes. And then they’ll move on with their day. Don’t let this weigh on you for days so that they don’t feel upset for 15 mins. Prioritize yourself in this case friend.
I had resigned from current firm about 1.5 months back since I received an offer. Ideally should have been joining new firm in 2 weeks. But now received a better offer. So afraid the first firm wont like it
Of course they wouldn’t, no firm would. Unless you had informed them earlier that your acceptance is temporary and may change if you receive this other offer that you were waiting for, which I doubt anyone will do. This happens though but other folks are right, a bridge is being burned for sure.
Hi thanks all. I think the community is fairly divided.
Moving forward, how can I avoid such a situation? If I tell them that I am looking for other opportunities as well, they won't even select me. If I myself don't look out for better opportunities, I'd obviously be missing out.
Would honestly appreciate if all you could give your perspectives
They are looking for other people too, it is expected, why even bring it up? Do what helps you sleep at night though, if you want to tell them that then do.
