I currently wear many hats. I’m an EHS Manager, but also do minimal work with purchasing, HR, and Quality.
This morning I was volun-told I would be going through Green Belt training for Lean Six-Sigma at my plant. This will add onto my job responsibilities, with no mention of additional compensation.
Normally I’d jump at the opportunity for career advancement, but I was recently turned down for a pay increase, so I refuse to take on anymore work without pay.
What’s the right way to say that?

I am of counsel at a firm where I can set my own rate and keep a percentage of collections, which varies slightly depending on whether the client is one I generated or not. Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role. My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.

So I used to work for a company where my job was good, was a director of business solutions for a fashion brand. Only issue was that the CFO micromanaged and ended up leaving. My background is digital transformation however I took an infrastructure position to rebuild a provincial healthcare system.
